The 30th Senior School Founders’ Day was celebrated at Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, Gomti Nagar on 14th November with Ms. Mithali Raj, Former Captain of the Women’s National Cricket Team, India, as the Chief Guest. A dedicatedly crafted evening with a multitude of cultural programmes, performed on stage with immense enthusiasm and fervour, brought smiles to the faces of all in attendance.
Ms. Mithali Raj expressed her admiration for the beautifully put up exhibition and programmes, and interacted with some of the students, sharing how she got into the field of cricket, “It started with curiosity and then gradually, I became very passionate about the sport.” Advising the children to work towards excellence, she appreciated the school’s efforts to support students in various sports and co-curricular fields. She also remarked how incorporating meditation between classes was a revolution in its own way. Ms. Raj picked up a painting of a mother and a child made by Arjun, a grade 6 student, as a gift for her own mother, who, along with her father, has been a strong support system through her career.
The Vice Chairman of Seth M.R. Jaipuria Schools, Mr. Shreevats Jaipuria, shared how the pedagogy at Jaipuria aims to strengthen in students the will to constantly find innovative solutions and think out of the box, in hopes to achieve the seemingly unachievable. He further commended the 30 years of hard work done by the teachers, students and the alumni, gone into creating a conducive environment for learning.

Under the guidance of the committed teachers, the children were able to bring to fruition a Hindi play on Swami Vivekananda’s life and a play on Friendship in Sanskrit. Manipulating light, a Shadow Play and Mime, invoking the Divine, was a wonderful example of how children at school are always inquisitive, striving towards constantly widening their horizons.
‘Bhari Bhari’ was a semi-classical dance performance depicting the ‘Shringar Ras’ with refined grace, while another dance explored the eternal love of Radha and Krishna. The spirited Hanuman Chalisa dance performance energised the onlookers, while Symphony No. 40 composed by Mozart and sung by the students, was a beautiful amalgamation of high and low range of notes.
Mrs. Promini Chopra, the Principal, explained how the purpose of education is to prepare children for life. Adding to that, she said, “The changes in school help our children become masterminds of permutations, which gives impetus to development.” She urged students to always grab the opportunities presented to them at school, especially through school activities and clubs.
The celebrations were brought to a closure with our distinguished guests and parents applauding the efforts of the entire school community.
