The Subroto Cup football tournament was first conceived in 1960 with about 50 school teams participating. Today, almost 34,000 school teams from all over the globe take part in this prestigious tournament, giving it international stature.
For the first time, our girls’ football team from Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, Gomti Nagar, had the opportunity to participate in Pre-Subroto, the initial stage of the tournament.
The zonal round took place at our school, where our girls showed great dedication by winning the round with 4 goals against CMS, Kanpur Road.
In the regional round, we secured first position by defeating St. Peter’s College, Agra, in the finals. Our team earned the medal by winning both the zonal and regional stages of the tournament. We congratulate and wish continued success to our strong girls’ football team.
