Under the blazing summer sun, the spirit of devotion and togetherness filled the premises of Seth M.R. Jaipuria School as the school community came together to celebrate Bada Mangal on May 26 with deep faith, warmth and heartfelt seva.
A large pandal set up outside the school became the centre of the celebration from the early hours of the day. The fragrance of fresh prasad, the sound of bhajans playing softly in the background, and the sight of people working shoulder to shoulder created an atmosphere that felt both festive and deeply comforting.
The celebrations began with a pooja and aarti conducted by the Sanskrit teachers of the school. Principal Mrs. Promini Chopra joined the prayers along with members of the school leadership team, teachers, students and administrative staff. As chants echoed through the gathering, many stood with folded hands, quietly immersed in the moment. Soon after the pooja, prasad was distributed among everyone present.
What followed was a beautiful scene of community participation. The bhandara began with volunteers continuously serving hot puris, sabzi and boondi to visitors arriving at the pandal through the day. At another stall, chilled panna and drinking water were distributed to help people find relief from the intense summer heat. Despite the rising temperatures, the energy at the venue remained constant, carried forward by smiling faces and the simple joy of serving others.
Teachers could be seen actively involved in every corner, arranging plates, serving food and welcoming people. Students too stepped in enthusiastically, helping manage the distribution and ensuring everyone was attended to. It became a shared effort where every person contributed in their own way.
More than anything else, the celebration carried the feeling of people coming together with open hearts. There was devotion, there was discipline, but above all, there was humanity in its simplest and most beautiful form.
