A Walk Down Memory Lane: Alumni Meet for 1998–2005 Batch

The Alumni Meet 2026 at Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, Vineet Khand, Gomti Nagar, on April 4 saw a warm gathering of alumni from the 1998 to 2005 ICSE and ISC batches. Returning to their alma mater, they stepped into familiar corridors with a mix of curiosity, nostalgia, and quiet excitement.
Inside the auditorium, the initial moments were unspoken. Then came the familiar warmth, hugs that lingered a little longer, handshakes that turned into laughter, and that quick scanning of faces, trying to place names over changed appearances. Teachers were surrounded almost instantly. Old friendships picked up mid-sentence, as if no time had passed at all.
Once everyone settled, the evening found its rhythm through stories. One after another, alumni stepped forward, revisiting their years in school. Some spoke of discipline, the strict teachers who once felt intimidating but now stood as guiding figures in their memory. Others shared lighter moments, the mischief, the punishments, the little rebellions that now drew the loudest laughs. A few stories carried a different weight, moments when something said or done within the classroom had quietly shaped who they became.
Mayur Lakhmani shared one such moment. He spoke about an incident involving his parents and a conversation with his class teacher that shifted something fundamental in his home. It changed the way he connected with his family and, in his words, stayed with him long after he left school. Today, his own son studies at Jaipuria, bringing his journey full circle.
As the stories eased into comfort, the evening shifted into a lighter space. Games conducted by Nischal Habrala ma’am brought out the same energy that once filled school corridors. Soon after, music took over. The school’s music teachers performed live, setting a relaxed tone as conversations flowed freely. Groups formed and reformed, teachers mingled with former students, and introductions were made all over again, this time with life stories attached.

There was also a quiet pride in reconnecting with the institution itself, meeting school leaders, revisiting classrooms in conversation, and acknowledging how much of their present had roots here.
Towards the close, Principal Pramini Chopra addressed the gathering with a simple message: the school remains open to its alumni, always. It was received with nods, smiles, and a sense that this wasn’t just courtesy, it was an invitation they intended to accept.
Then came the moment that stilled the room. A video compilation began, carrying photographs from their school years, arranged by batches, classes, and sections. Phones came out instantly. Laughter broke out in pockets as people spotted themselves, sometimes after a second look. For others, it was quieter. A few just watched, taking it in, letting the years return in fragments.
By the end of it, there was no rush to leave. Contacts were exchanged, promises made to meet again, this time sooner. The evening closed over dinner, with conversations still carrying on, unwilling to end.
They came back as alumni. They left with something more, a reminder of where it all began, and why it still matters.
