A Spiritual Gathering in Harmony: Jaipuria Marks Sri Aurobindo’s Arrival and Relic Sthapana Anniversary

On April 4, Seth M.R. Jaipuria School marked a deeply significant day, commemorating the arrival of Sri Aurobindo in Pondicherry. The occasion also held special meaning for the school as it celebrated the third anniversary of the Sthapana of Sri Aurobindo’s sacred relics in the school temple.

The day unfolded with quiet devotion and collective participation. Students, in batches of twenty from each class, visited the temple to read passages from Savitri in unison. Their voices, steady and sincere, created a rhythm of shared spiritual experience.

Throughout the day, students and staff stepped into the temple for darshan, bowing their heads in reverence before the sacred stone beneath which the relics rest.

As evening descended, Aurobindoites from across Lucknow gathered in the school temple, enriching the atmosphere and adding depth to the collective observance. Together, they read the Savitri, immersing themselves in its profound verses. This was followed by a 15-minute meditation, after which many shared their experiences. Later, prasaad was served among everyone.

Sharing her experience, a regular visitor to the school temple, Neeta Bisen, an Aurobindo devotee reflected on the depth of the session and the subtle yet powerful shift it created within.

“Today, we read The Book of Fate, and there was a certain stillness, a quiet intensity in the atmosphere. Savitri is not just a text, it is an experience. For those who were here for the first time, the difference in the inner and outer environment was almost tangible. It is something you don’t just understand intellectually, you begin to feel it within, as soon as you are sitting in the presence of the relics.” She added.
