Recently, our Nursery wing celebrated Mango Day with great enthusiasm! From lively conversations about favorite fruits to creating bar charts, guessing fruit products, and a visit from Mango Man, the day was packed with fun and learning. The highlight was a pretend play market where kids traded mangoes with plastic coins. It was a day full of joy, learning, and delicious mango treats!
· Conversation: Children engaged in a conversation about their favorite fruits, their tastes, and their nutritional benefits.
· Data Analysis Using a Bar Chart: Children prepared a simple bar chart using the number of students who like each fruit. They were taught how to read it and what the bars represent.
· Find the Fruit Product: Children were given flashcards of different fruit products and had to guess the fruit.
· Mango Man: A teacher dressed up as Mango Man visited each class and shared interesting facts about mangoes, such as where they grow, how they come to fruit vendors, their nutritional benefits, and mango products. Mango Man distributed mango toffees to all the children.
· Story time – Mango, the King of Fruits: A story session was held where children listened to the story “Mango, the King of Fruits.”
· Pretend Play Market: Children brought one ripe mango from home, and a pretend fruit market was set up with a weighing scale and plastic coins. Children bought mangoes in exchange for their coins.
