Preprimary students celebrated Dussehra with unwavering enthusiasm.
The day began with engaging conversations and stories of Maa Durga’s various forms and Lord Rama’s victory over Ravanna to root all Jaipurians in culture Through their conversation with students, the teachers gently drove them to being courageous enough to fight evil within and outside by speaking the truth and respecting all forms of creation.
Creativity with a thrust on Physical and Vital development flourished as students coloured Maa Durga’s pictures and meticulously crafted Ravan with paper. Celebrations and food became buddies as children decorated biscuits with vegetables and cheese. Some licked cheese while the others chose to eat the tomatoes and cucumbers. The ones to eat the tempting snacky biscuits in all their splendour were a sheer delight for the teachers to watch as they took all care to not drop the salad on the biscuits.
Our little ones, resplendent in traditional Indian attire, danced with infectious delight, epitomizing the essence of Dussehra. The significant contribution of parents in making exquisitely crafted paper dandiyas and delectable sweets for children added an extra layer of warmth to the festivities.
Children went for a nature walk. Some of them imagined they were walking through the jungles of Panchwati whereas some claimed to be walking in Ashok Vatika quietly as the demon guards were on duty! They collected grass, leaves and fallen flowers and stuck them on a cello tape around their wrists creating beautiful bracelets.
A puppet show with a poem, quiz, take home crafts made it an unforgettable day to celebrate the victory of good over evil
We eagerly await more such events to unify our school community with our culture.
