A Proud Hockey Run for Jaipuria at the Gorakhpur Regionals

A proud moment for Seth M. R. Jaipuria School as its hockey teams returned from the Regionals in Gorakhpur with an impressive haul of medals across age categories.

The U17 Girls’ Hockey Team clinched the Gold Medal, followed by the U19 Girls’ Team securing Silver. The boys continued the strong showing, with the U14 Boys’ Team winning Silver, the U17 Boys’ Team bringing home Gold, and the U19 Boys’ Team securing another Silver Medal.

The success at the Regionals was backed by a consistent training routine that began well before the tournament. Students spent their mornings on the field, working on their game through practice drills, fitness sessions, and match preparation. Their coaches and sports teachers remained closely involved, guiding the players through each stage of their preparation and helping them build confidence along the way.

The school places a strong emphasis on the physical being through its sporting programme. Before every game, students take a minute of silence to offer the sport to the Divine, creating a moment of stillness before the action begins. From there, the field becomes a place to build teamwork, discipline, confidence, and the strength to keep going through difficult moments.
