A Moment of Triumph: Seth M.R. Jaipuria School Wins the Overal Champions Trophy at Farida Abraham Memorial Debate and Quiz

Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, Lucknow, once again proved its mettle at the prestigious Farida Abraham Memorial Debate and Quiz Competition hosted by La Martiniere Girls’ College, Lucknow, bringing home not just accolades—but pride, glory, and the coveted Champions Trophy.

The debating contingent, comprising Sarthak Misra, Aunika Pandey, and Paridhi Singh, displayed exceptional oratory prowess and intellectual depth throughout the multi-round competition. The journey began with the Preliminary Round, where the team showcased its analytical sharpness and clarity of thought, securing a strong position early on. They went on to qualify for the Quarterfinal Turncoat Round, demonstrating versatility and quick thinking as they switched stances with confidence and precision.

In the Semifinal Composite Round, a modified Cambridge format, the team’s synergy, strategy, and research truly shone through, earning them a well-deserved place in the Grand Finale—a modified Cambridge-style debate on the thought-provoking motion “This House would prioritize zoonotic disease surveillance over all other public health initiatives.”

Facing off against St. Joseph’s School, Prayagraj, the Jaipuria team presented powerful arguments that combined scientific reasoning with social awareness, impressing both the judges and the audience. At the end of a fiercely contested debate, the motion was defeated, and Seth M.R. Jaipuria School emerged victorious, winning the Best Team Award. Adding to the glory, Sarthak Misra was adjudged the Best Speaker of the final round—an achievement that stood as a testament to his eloquence and command over the subject.

Parallel to this triumph, our Quiz Team, comprising Abhyudaya Pratap Singh and Devansh Pathak, lifted the Quiz Trophy, showcasing their remarkable presence of mind and vast knowledge across disciplines.

With participation from over 30 eminent schools, including Bishop Cotton (Mussoorie and Bangalore), GEMS Dubai, DPS Riyadh, Mayo College Ajmer, La Martiniere Kolkata, Wynberg Allen Mussoorie, Shiv Nadar Noida, and all leading institutions of Lucknow, this victory stands as a remarkable milestone.

The dual triumph in both Debate and Quiz categories led Seth M.R. Jaipuria School to be declared the Overall Champions—a moment that will be remembered with immense pride by the entire Jaipuria fraternity.
