Bathed in the hues of the tricolour, the front field of Seth M.R. Jaipuria School became a stage of patriotic splendour as students and staff celebrated the 79th Independence Day with boundless zeal.
15th August also marks the birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo, who played a pivotal role in India’s struggle for freedom. On this day he arrived in the world in physical form to initiate a transformative journey of elevating human consciousness worldwide.
The timeless verses of Savitri were recited by the students, paying tribute to both India’s liberation and the profound legacy of Sri Aurobindo, a true patriotic hero whose revolutionary ideas and spiritual wisdom remain deeply woven into the very fabric of the school’s values.
Mrs. Promini Chopra, Principal of Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, and Mrs. Asha Chaddha, Principal of Navsrijan, proudly hoisted the tricolour, which was followed by a march past led by the school’s student council heads.
Following this, the youngest students from Nursery to Class II celebrated Unity in Diversity with a lively State Parade. Each class represented one of India’s 28 states, dressed in traditional attire and showcasing their state’s culture through food, maps, languages, and festival displays.
Principal Mrs. Promini Chopra spoke about the vision of a developed India by 2047 and urged everyone to play their part in achieving it. She remarked, “India’s true strength lies in its people” and she urged students to find inner strength, face challenges with courage, and contribute to the nation’s growth.
Sarthak, the Head Boy, began with a poignant poem imagining a vibrant India awakened by bravery and revolution. He likened India’s path to the banyan tree and urged the youth to fiercely defend freedom and strive for an India that stands strong on the global stage.

Aunika, the Head Girl, conveyed warm greetings on the 79th anniversary of independence, emphasizing that freedom is a daily commitment. She called on the youth to take ownership of their choices and act with courage and responsibility, inspiring all to break internal limits and build a future founded on fairness and empathy.
A diverse array of events filled the day, including lively Cultural dance performances, soulful songs, dramatic skits, and thought-provoking presentations. Among the highlights of the event were the melodic Raag Vrindavani Sarang orchestra, an inspiring spoken word piece called “India Rises, a reflective presentation on Bal Gangadhar Tilak by seventh-grader Priya, an eloquent speech in Sanskrit detailing Sri Aurobindo’s life and much more.
The closing moments were marked by the school choir singing the National song, casting a powerful spirit of patriotism over everyone present.
