INVESTITURE CEREMONY

As the school prepared for the prestigious Investiture Ceremony on 15th July 2026, there was an air of solemnity, respect, and anticipation in the assembly. Mrs. Promini Chopra, the Principal Ma’am, and the leadership team, with their unfailing commitment to guide and lead by example, the teachers with their never-ending enthusiasm to mentor their students, the parents beaming with pride at the accomplishments of their children, and the administrative and support staff with their perennial willingness to serve the school’s mission, all came together as a community to support and encourage the students, particularly the newly elected representatives in whose honour the ceremony was held.

In this close-knit community, no detail is too small to be acknowledged and appreciated. In a move that surprised the House Teachers Mrs. Shweta Jaitley, Mrs. Rashmi Roy Choudhury, Mrs. Kanchana Srivastava, and Ms. Shamama Begum, the Principal Ma’am invited all of them onto the stage before the commencement of the event. She pointed to their attire and drew attention to the fact that they were all dressed in their respective House colours — red, blue, yellow, and green representing the Houses of Wisdom, Strength, Harmony, and Perfection respectively. Through this small but significant gesture, the House Teachers embodied the spirit of commitment to the ideals of the school, which was duly recognised by the Principal Ma’am, who also invited the audience to applaud them for this symbolic gesture of dedication.

The school leaders were invited to light the Lamp of Knowledge with the prayer: ‘May this Lamp illuminate our lives and lead us from darkness to light’. This was followed by the recital of a Sanskrit shloka, the National Song, and a prayer recited by the Vice-Principal Dr. Anupam Vidyarthi. A graceful Bharathanatyam rendition of Ganesh Vandana added cultural grandeur to the event.

Then came the defining moment of the event. All the newly elected Council Members were introduced to the audience and invited onto the stage. To formally recognise their leadership, the Principal Ma’am and the Vice-Principal Sir presented the sashes and badges to the newly appointed Council Heads for the Academic Session 2026 –2027. The Principal Ma’am also administered the oath of office. In the House Investiture ceremony, the Captains, Vice-Captains, and Prefects were presented with badges and administered the oath of office.

In her inspiring speech, the Principal Ma’am emphasised that the school’s philosophy is purposely designed to enable the growth and development of its students. She reminded the newly elected leaders that, in upholding and embodying these values, the School Council has a unique opportunity to create a positive impact on the world and become harbingers of change.

The Principal Ma’am invited Aryaman Jain, the Community and Student Affairs Captain, to introduce the Community and Student Affairs (CSA) body, a new initiative. Comprised of 20 members, the CSA has been established to enable the student community to liaise directly with the administration. By enabling open communication and accessibility amongst the student community, the CSA invites students to freely approach its members to share their suggestions, ideas, or problems.

Then followed the speeches of the newly elected Council Heads: Sudev Nair, the Head Boy; Shivangi Singh, the Head Girl; Naman Kumar and Abhyudaya Pratap Singh, the Vice Head Boys; Aarna Tiwari and Karnika Singh, the Vice-Head Girls. As a mark of gratitude for all their dedication and hard work, the following outgoing representatives were invited to share their reflections: Aunika Pandey, the outgoing Head Girl; Sarthak Mishra, the outgoing Head Boy; and Kairavi Das, the outgoing Vice Head Girl. The contributions of Akshita Agarwal, the outgoing Vice Head Girl, and Shardul Singh and Yuvraj Gupta, the outgoing Vice Head Boys, as well as the other outgoing Council Members were acknowledged with gratitude. Next, the parents were invited to engage with the students in an interactive session, wherein they were provided with questions and asked to share their perspectives.

In the vote of thanks, the students gratefully acknowledged the guidance and support of Mrs. Promini Chopra, the Principal; Mrs. Deepa Wahi, Vice-Principal (Academics); Dr. Anupam Vidyarthi, Vice-Principal (Administration); Mr. Vinay Pandey, Head Master, Senior School; Dr. Rashmi Singh, Academic Co-ordinator, Senior School; Mrs. Neha Singh, Academic Head; Mrs. Jaya Joshi Mishra, Headmistress, Middle School; Mrs. Deepti Awasthi, Academic Coordinator, Middle School, and all the other teachers, as well as the parents. The event concluded with the School Anthem and National Anthem.

A recurrent theme of the Investiture Ceremony speeches was the understanding that leadership is not a symbol of rank or power, but rather one of service, commitment, and responsibility. Just as this message was carefully reinforced in the speeches of the Principal Ma’am and the House Mistresses, it was graciously echoed in the speeches of the Head Body and Head Girl, thereby demonstrating their self-awareness in shouldering this responsibility with sincerity, integrity, and purpose.
