Celebrating Earth Day with Gratitude and Grace

Divine grace has bestowed upon us this magnificent Earth—a living sanctuary teeming with wonder, harmony, and life. In humble gratitude for this sacred gift, our school came together on Earth Day—Tuesday, April 22—to honor and celebrate the planet that sustains us.

From the very first assembly bell, gratitude filled the air. In the nursery, little explorers wandered along winding paths, their tiny hands brushing velvety leaves, inhaling the gentle fragrance of blooms, and wrapping their arms around sturdy trunks in tender tree‑hugs. Back in their classroom, they listened to Earth‑themed rhymes and learned about our planet through playful activities.

In the primary wing, our LKG artists gathered around a “Nature Tray” brimming with fallen leaves, petals, pebbles, and twigs. Each child closed their eyes to touch and smell these treasures, then described textures—soft, crunchy, smooth, dry—to build new words for the wonders they’d discovered. Later, they pressed their favorite finds onto an Earth‑shaped collage, sealing their promise to care for the world they love. In UKG, imagination soared as children arranged twigs and tiny blossoms into vibrant collages, transforming simple bits of nature into declarations of unity with our planet.

In Grades 1 through 4, creativity took many forms. First graders brought spring to life with colorful illustrations depicting scenic views of our beautiful orb and highlighting the importance of Earth’s five elements. Second graders penned heartfelt essays on “Earth, My Dearest Friend.” Third graders honored “Trees, Our True Companions,” while fourth graders offered gratitude in essays titled “Thank You, Nature.” After lunch, second graders conscientiously cleared litter from their classrooms and corridors. Throughout these grades, classroom walls bloomed with gratitude notes, vibrant sketches, and loving messages.

Meanwhile, our middle and senior school writers poured their reflections onto the page. Fifth‑ and sixth‑graders addressed the planet as family in open letters, imagining what ancient trees might whisper if they could speak. Seventh‑ and eighth‑graders explored their bond with the five elements and vowed to live mindfully every day. Ninth‑ and tenth‑graders examined their carbon footprints and crafted green pledges to guide small daily choices. And in eleventh‑ and twelfth‑grade classes, students wove rich narratives—from embracing the vision of “the world as one family” to chronicling personal revolutions in waste reduction and celebrating sacred groves where nature is revered rather than consumed.

With zest and enthusiasm, we offered heartfelt gratitude to every part of our blue planet through art, writing, and action. The celebrations will continue throughout the week—stay tuned!
