SPIC MACAY 2024 | Seth M.R. Jaipuria School

On 10th September 2024, Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, Gomti Nagar, had the honor of hosting a special concert in collaboration with SPIC MACAY, featuring Tantree Samrat Pandit Salil Bhatt along with Pandit Abhishek Mishra.

At the beginning of the event, Pt. Salil Bhatt spoke about the importance of reconnecting with our roots and culture, emphasizing that it is the need of the hour. He also shared his experience at Jaipuria, stating, “I was filled with joy when, upon entering the school, I was greeted with a ‘Vande Mataram.’ Later, I learned that this is part of the school’s philosophy, where everyone greets each other with ‘Vande Mataram.’ I believe this practice should be adopted by all schools across India. In today’s times, it is essential to learn about our rich heritage and the culture passed down by our ancestors. SPIC MACAY is playing a vital role in reviving this culture, and I am heartened to see so many attentive listeners here today, from teachers to students.”

Pandit Salil Bhatt was on Saatvik Veena, he was accompanied by Pandit Abhishek Mishra on Tabla. They began their soulful performance with Raag Parmeshwari, filling the auditorium with a serene and blissful melody. Throughout the performance, Pandit Salil engaged with the audience, sharing the fascinating history of his instrument, the Saatvik Veena. They also took requests from the audience, which made the event even more memorable. The duo concluded their performance with the graceful “Prachin Bhairavi” from the Rajasthani Gharana, leaving the audience in awe.
