On August 24, 2024, the grand finale of Jaipuria Fest—a student-led inter-school extravaganza—reached an electrifying peak with Jhankaar Beats! This performing arts showcase was a burst of pure talent, featuring everything from high-octane dance moves to powerful drama, soul-stirring music, mind-blowing beatboxing, and a full-blown orchestra.
With 350 students from 20 schools taking the stage, the event was nothing short of a talent explosion! The performances were an absolute knockout, leaving the audience in awe. From spotlighting crucial societal issues to celebrating the vibrant tapestry of Indian culture, Jhankar Beats was a visual feast and entertainment package like no other.
Abhivyakti, the group dance competition, left the audience absolutely spellbound with its stunning choreography and flawless synchronization. Students brought the stage to life with a vibrant mix of cultural and contemporary performances, some even showcasing never-before-seen fusions of two distinct cultures. A bold and powerful Shiv Tandav performance ignited the auditorium, drawing thunderous applause. The event also featured captivating representations of the Bihu Dance, Khaalasi Dance, and Rajasthani Dance, each adding its own unique flavor to the event.
Vadya-Vrinda, the orchestra segment, was a true musical delight! The participants showcased their own unique orchestral pieces, each was appreciated for their exceptional artistry and charm. Among these, “Afreen Afreen” stood out as the most loved performance, filling the auditorium with its soulful instrumental melodies and creating an atmosphere of pure serenity.
In the event Swaragini, students took on the exciting challenge of mashing up two songs, each in a different language, and performing them live. Their creativity was on full display, resulting in some truly original and memorable mashups. The event featured standout combinations like “Pasoori” blended with “Despacito,” and “Saiyaan” mixed with “Closer,” leaving the audience thrilled by these fresh and unexpected musical fusions.
Vocal Vibrato, the beatbox competition, took the audience on a thrilling hip-hop odyssey as students showcased their incredible ability to produce beats using just their mouths. The transitions were seamlessly smooth, and the range of speed demonstrated by the students was absolutely impressive, leaving everyone captivated by their talent.
The event Behrupiya, a drama competition, had the audience rolling on the floor with laughter. Students delivered hilarious 5-minute skits, ranging from epic references like Baahubali to trendy meme humor.
Chief guest Mridula Bharadwaj, Senior Secretary of Nirparang Manch, shared her admiration, saying, “I am awestruck by the dedication of the students and their ability to organize such a large-scale event. Watching the drama performances, I am delighted to see that the tradition of performing arts is being promoted in the school on such a grand scale. It’s crucial for students to be exposed to arts and culture, as it helps them develop a fresh perspective on society.”
The event concluded with a vibrant prize distribution ceremony, where students were awarded prizes and titles across various categories. Navsrijan School secured the second prize in its category.
Later, the overall winners were announced. As our school was the host, we did not contest for the overall trophy. Modern Academy claimed the second position, while the overall trophy of the Fest was proudly won by CMS, Kanpur Road Campus.
