Spikes hit the track, cheers echoed, and records tumbled at our unforgettable 28th Annual Athletic Meet! On December 15th and 16th, 2023, the 28th Annual Athletic Meet took place at Seth M.R Jaipuria School, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow.
The event commenced at 8:30 AM on the first day with the flag hoisting by the chief guest, Principal Mrs. Promini Chopra. This was followed by a March Past by each School House, and the Lighting of the Torch marked the beginning of the action-filled day.
The School Sports Captain, Mrigendra Pratap Singh, took the oath, followed by an address speech by Principal Mrs. Promini Chopra. In her speech, the Principal emphasized the importance of sports and encouraged students to engage in healthy competition, participating with the mindset of having fun rather than just aiming to win.
Each event took place under the guidance and supervision of Teachers from the Sports Department. The event kicked off with a fun twist on the first day. Students of grade 7, along with their parents, competed together in games such as Tunnel Race, Musical Chair, Bucket Race, and more. Parents re-lived their childhood as they ran and had fun with the students.
On the second day, the events began with the Shot Put for A and B Divisions, followed by a 100-meter race for A, B, and C divisions for Girls and Boys. Subsequently, 200-meter and 400-meter races were held for A, B, and C Division Boys and Girls.
Students exhibited great enthusiasm in the 100-meter Hurdles Race for A, B, and C Division Boys and Girls. They sat on chairs by the field, cheering for their respective houses. The second-to-last event of the day was A Division Girls Long Jump and C Division Boys Long Jump.
The last event of the day was the 4X2X100 Meter Mix Relay, an open race for all, where girls and boys ran, marking a successful conclusion to the two-day Athletic meet.
Students were awarded Trophies, Medals, and Certificates. There was an edge-to-edge competition among all four houses, but the winning house was the House of Wisdom with 127 points, followed by the House of Strength with 120 points, the House of Harmony with 89 points, and last but not least, the House of Perfection with 81 points.
In the A Division, the boys’ category was dominantly secured, with Mayank Panday and Vikram Pratap Singh, both from 11th grade, sharing the victory. Meanwhile, Jiya Singh of 12th grade emerged triumphant in the A Division girls’ category.
Moving to the B Division, Aryan Patni of 10th grade showcased exceptional athleticism, securing the victory in the boys’ category. In the B Division girls’ category, the honor was shared by Gzifa Sarang of 10th grade and Yashasvi Singh of 9th grade.
In the C Division, Aditya Giri of 7th grade emerged victorious in the boys’ category, while Avni Shandilya of 8th grade claimed the top spot among the girls.
In the D Division, triumph awaited as Kartikey Srivastav clinched the top spot in the boys’ category, while Yashavi Singh secured the top position among the girls, both emerging victorious from the 6th grade.
Aryan Patni of 10th grade was awarded the Harsh Singh Vats sports scholarship in the boys’ category. In the girls’ category, Gzifa Sarang of 10th grade and Yashasvi Singh of 9th grade were also recipients of the same scholarship.
The House of Wisdom claimed the house trophy, the ground echoed with jubilant cheers and celebrations among the students.
