Middle School Reading Race – 1st Trimester

With the objective to encourage children of classes 5 to 8 into reading more books, the 1st Trimester of the Middle School Reading Race started on 1st May and ended on 31st July, 2022.

Students were encouraged to write reviews, design cover pages, draw comic strips, write letters to the authors or characters, or even add new chapters to any of the books they read.

In total, 16 students participated with 9 students winning the ‘Reader’ badge, which was the beginner badge. 2 students went on to win the ‘Star Reader’ badge, given for 2 to 3 entries by the student;  2 won the ‘Super Reader’ badge, given for 3 to 4 entries, while 1 student managed to win the ‘Awesome Reader’ badge for more than 4 entries.

The initiative has generated excitement amongst students with regards to reading, hopefully turning them into lifelong readers.
