The morning of 16 March brought a special kind of excitement to the campus as the youngest students of Seth M.R. Jaipuria School arrived for the start of the new session. Holding their parents’ hands, many walked through the lush green campus with wide, observant eyes, taking in the surroundings that would soon become a familiar part of their daily lives.
Parents accompanied their children to the classrooms, helping them settle into their seats and sharing a few reassuring smiles before quietly stepping out.
Nursery: Settling into the Very First School Classroom
Inside the Nursery classrooms, the first few minutes were marked by quiet observation. As Ms. Nabanita Ma’am shared, “For many of the children, it was the very first time they had stepped into a school classroom. It naturally took them a little while to settle in, but soon after a few activities they began exploring the space and growing comfortable with their new surroundings.”
As the morning settled into its rhythm, the children began engaging with the classroom around them. They explored simple toys and learning materials such as puzzles, blocks and shape sorters, moving from one activity to another with growing interest. One of the early activities invited them to scribble freely on heart-shaped sheets, giving them a chance to hold crayons and express themselves through colours.
Later, the class gathered for story time as the teacher read aloud If You Take a Mouse to School. As the story unfolded and the activities continued, the room slowly filled with laughter and small interactions. Children began sitting beside each other, sharing toys and quietly warming up to their classmates. It was a gentle moment to witness as these young learners began forming some of their first friendship bonds.
LKG: Songs, Smiles and New Friends
In the LKG classrooms, the morning unfolded with cheerful energy. Children gathered together for simple group interactions and sang a few familiar rhymes, gradually becoming comfortable in their surroundings.
Teachers encouraged students to introduce themselves and interact with their classmates, helping them feel at ease. The classroom soon filled with cheerful voices as children sang familiar rhymes such as Bits of Paper, I Hear Thunder, God’s Love, and more. Through these songs, playful activities and gentle interactions, the children slowly grew more relaxed in the classroom environment and began building a sense of comfort and belonging.
UKG: Beginning the New Session with Excitement
For the UKG students, the day carried a sense of excitement and anticipation. As they stepped into their classrooms, many paused to look around with interest, quietly taking in their new learning space before settling into their seats.
One particularly heart-warming moment came from Yuvaan of UKG F. With a bright smile, he shared, “For many days I had been dreaming about coming to a big new classroom where I would feel like a big boy. When I entered today, I felt this was exactly the classroom I had seen in my dream.”
As the morning continued, the children eased into the rhythm of the classroom through simple learning activities. They participated in short conversations, explored basic language and phonics exercises, and engaged in activities related to shapes and emotions. These early classroom interactions helped the students feel comfortable in their new environment while beginning their new session with interest and enthusiasm.
