BIZATHON 2025 – Turning Ideas into Actions

The fourth edition of BIZATHON, a student-led inter-school commerce fest hosted by Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, Lucknow, successfully concluded on 12th August 2025. Over two days, the event brought together the city’s most enterprising young minds for a celebration of innovation, strategy, and entrepreneurial spirit. Organised by the Commerce Department, BIZATHON provided a dynamic platform where ideas meet execution—encouraging students to think beyond textbooks and explore the real-world dimensions of business, decision-making, and creativity.

The opening ceremony was graced by Shri Brajesh Pathak, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and a commerce graduate himself. In his keynote address, he encouraged students to shift their focus from the pursuit of marks to the pursuit of meaningful knowledge, practical skills, and innovative thinking that can drive change in the real world.

The event was further enriched by the presence of Prof. J. V. Vaishampayan, former Vice-Chancellor of several state universities and a senior academic in Commerce and Applied Economics, who attended as the Guest of Honour. With decades of teaching and academic leadership experience, he spoke about the importance of real-world application in commerce education. He emphasised how platforms like Bizathon foster critical thinking, innovation, and practical learning—core to succeeding in the modern business environment.

Expressing her gratitude to the dignitaries and participating schools, Principal Mrs. Promini Chopra reflected on the growing significance of commerce in an increasingly globalised world. She highlighted the essential relationship between earning, saving, and developing, urging students to look beyond immediate gains and understand the deeper dynamics of money and entrepreneurship. She emphasised that a successful entrepreneur must possess keen observation that sparks ideas, the power of analysis to shape them, and the ability to reflect deeply on those insights—transforming concepts into impactful actions. Her words set a visionary tone for the fest, reminding students that true commerce is as much about values and awareness as it is about profit.

Day One was filled with a whirlwind of competitions, each brimming with energy and innovation. The day kicked off with the Quiz, where teams raced against time to answer challenging questions that tested their knowledge and wit. The Financial WizKids challenge saw participants solving practical money matters with sharp financial reasoning. Budding innovators took the stage in Young Entrepreneurs, confidently pitching creative business ideas with clarity and vision.

The excitement continued with Monopoly Mutilating, a lively twist on the classic board game that kept both players and spectators on edge. Analytical minds shone in Forensic Frenzy, piecing together clues with precision, while Design Thinking sessions encouraged collaborative problem-solving and out-of-the-box solutions. The day concluded with the high-adrenaline Stock Wars, where teams navigated simulated markets with strategy and nerve, bringing Day One to a thrilling close.

Day Two continued the momentum with equally stimulating and high-energy challenges. The morning began with Financial WizKids – Quiz Juniors (Final Round), engaging students from classes 6, 7, and 8 in a test of financial knowledge, decision-making skills, and practical money management.

Next, the Economic Montage encouraged participants to visualise and present key economic concepts and contemporary issues on soft boards, combining creativity with analytical thinking. In Savings Showdown, students demonstrated entrepreneurial acumen, making smart financial decisions, maximizing savings, and showcasing innovative planning skills.

The Jaipuria Premier League (JPL) proved to be a crowd-puller, blending the excitement of auctions with the strategy of cricket. Participants assumed the roles of franchise owners, making critical decisions to build dream teams from a pool of 120 skilled cricketers. Strategic planning, calculated investments, and a deep understanding of the game determined the winners of this thrilling event.

The day also featured Stock Wars, testing students’ ability to navigate simulated markets with strategy, foresight, and nerve, rounding off the second day of competition.

The celebrations concluded with a Prize Distribution Ceremony, honouring the winners and participants across all events. Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Kanpur emerged as the Winner, while La Martiniere Girls’ College secured the position of Runner-up. The ceremony celebrated not only the achievements but also the creativity, skill, and entrepreneurial spirit of all participants.

More than just a fest, BIZATHON 2025 stood out as a platform for learning, innovation, and strategic thinking. Through a series of competitions, students were exposed to the practical application of commerce, teamwork, and problem-solving, fostering skills essential for the leaders of tomorrow.

BIZATHON has once again reaffirmed its place as a transformative platform where young minds are empowered to innovate, strategize, and turn ideas into impactful actions. We can’t wait for the next edition, which promises to be even bigger and more inspiring, continuing the school’s commitment to nurturing future changemakers in commerce, finance, and entrepreneurship.
