Honouring Our Young Achievers: Junior Prize Day 2025

Seth M.R. Jaipuria School hosted its Junior School Prize Day on the 25th of August 2025, marking a formal celebration of its students’ talents. The event was graced by the presence of teachers, parents, and honoured guests, all of whom joined in a collective, heartfelt applause for the impressive achievements of the young learners.

The morning began with a warm welcome for the Chief Guest, Professor Vinod Solanki, and the Guest of Honour, Mrs Anjali Jaipuria, Vice Chairperson. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp and the rendering of the national song Vande Mataram marked a respectful and auspicious beginning.

In her speech, Mrs Anjali Jaipuria narrated a profound story about a boy learning from a master carver. She remarked, “When the boy asked for the tools, the master did not simply hand them over. Instead, he showed the boy a piece of rock and asked him, ‘What do you see?’ When the boy hesitated, the master said, ‘I see an angel waiting to be set free.’” Mrs Jaipuria used this story to illustrate that teachers see beyond the present abilities of their students and nurture the incredible potential within.

She added, “Just like the carver, teachers do not just see what a student is today; they see the hidden potential, the future scientist, artist, and leader within. With their guidance, they lead you towards perfection.”

Adding splendour to the celebration, students presented a mesmerising Hindustani vocal performance of Raag Bhoopali, its serene notes creating a tranquil ambience. This was followed by a soulful rendition of the song Sayonara.

The All-Rounder Award was presented to Atharva Jindal by Mrs Anjali Jaipuria and the Principal, Mrs Promini Chopra. After the felicitation, Atharva sat down with Principal Promini Chopra for an interaction.

When Principal Promini Chopra asked how he developed his confidence, Atharva answered, “I believe that when you speak from the heart, and you know deep down that what you’re saying is not only mentally but also morally correct, then there is no reason to be shy, because you feel confident that everyone will accept it as right.”

During the conversation, Atharva spoke about an app he developed with his friends, saying, “It is a team initiative. We identified that diabetes is a significant problem in India, and we aim to educate children about it from an early age. We have also created a health-tracking app for adults. The emotion that drove me was the feeling that I was doing my duty as a human on earth and fulfilling my purpose.”

Sanskrit scholars of the school deeply resonated with the audience through their chanting of Sanskrit shlokas, during which they fluently recited ancient verses and explained their profound meanings.

The atmosphere truly came alive during the Excellence Awards, where recognition was given across diverse categories including music, literature, elocution, storytelling, creative writing, dance, drama, fine arts, computer science, numeracy, sports, yoga, handwriting, Spelling Bee, and general knowledge.

Lively performances in Hindi and English elocution, storytelling, dance, and music added a vibrant layer of joy to the prize distribution, leaving the audience in admiration of the children’s confidence and artistry.

The Chief Guest, Professor Vinod Solanki, shed light on the meaning of our existence. She shared, “Our existence is a profound journey of evolution, moving from man to superman. We are called Amritasya Putra, meaning children of the divine nectar, gifted with the unique power of thought and given the responsibility to consciously collaborate with nature in this great transformation. This journey is not simple; it begins with narrow, deep paths within ourselves, requiring aspiration, dedication, and the ability to receive and feel. Supported by the wisdom of our ancestors and the advent of supramental consciousness, we are called to fulfil this higher potential.”

As the awards continued, students across year groups were recognised in fields like art and craft, clay modelling, mental maths, logical skills, and computer science, highlighting the school’s focus on excellence in both creative and logical pursuits.

On stage, students performed an impressive sequence of yoga asanas. They began with Tiryaka Tadasana, transitioned to Bhujangasana, then formed a circle for Chakrasana, and concluded with Dwi Hasta Bhujasana.

The ceremony culminated in a moving rendition of the National Anthem, as the collective voices of student achievers, parents, and teachers created a powerful atmosphere.
