The school celebrated the birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo on 15th August. The auditorium resonated with the spirit of patriotism, the life and legacy of a great son of India, and his profound vision for the evolution of human consciousness.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, Prof. Vinod Solanki, followed by an introduction to Savitri, Sri Aurobindo’s spiritual epic, with a special focus on Book One, Canto Three, The Yoga of the King: The Yoga of the Soul’s Release. Students were introduced to the significance of the canto and its central themes of aspiration, inner growth and the evolution of consciousness.
A collective reading of Book One, Canto Three of Savitri allowed students to engage with Sri Aurobindo’s profound poetic and spiritual vision. The programme was further enriched by the rendition of patriotic songs, evoking a deep sense of pride, love and gratitude for the Motherland.
Students brought alive significant anecdotes from Sri Aurobindo’s life, offering glimpses into his extraordinary journey, from his early commitment to India’s freedom and his contribution to the nationalist movement to his profound spiritual experiences and his vision for the future of humanity.
Prof. Vinod Solanki shared the life journey of Sri Aurobindo, highlighting his immense contribution towards the freedom of the Motherland and the enduring significance of his thought and vision. His narration enabled students to appreciate Sri Aurobindo not merely as a freedom fighter, but as a visionary who saw India’s freedom as part of a much larger spiritual and evolutionary journey.
