The Jaipuria Community Comes Together to Celebrate International Yoga Day

Students, teachers, parents, and staff members came together at Seth M.R. Jaipuria School to celebrate International Yoga Day with enthusiasm and mindfulness. The campus witnessed a morning dedicated to wellness as participants gathered to practise yoga and reconnect with the values of balance, awareness, and inner harmony.

At Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, the journey of conscious transformation is deeply inspired by the philosophy of Sri Aurobindo, who viewed yoga as an integral part of life and self-development. Guided by this vision, the school introduces yogic practices to students from an early age, encouraging them to cultivate physical well-being, mental clarity, and self-discipline.

The School Auditorium and Assembly Ground came alive with collective energy as students, parents, and teachers participated in the first yoga session together. Seeing different generations and members of the school community practise side by side added a special warmth to the celebration. The session opened with gentle warm-up movements such as ankle rotations, shoulder rotations, and neck rotations, preparing participants for the asanas that followed.

The gathering then moved through a series of yoga postures including Tadasana and Tiryaka Tadasana, followed by Surya Namaskar. Participants practised each asana with focus and ease, creating a calm and positive atmosphere across the venues. The session concluded with Yoga Nidra, allowing everyone to relax deeply and experience a sense of stillness before beginning the day.

Following this, the school’s support staff joined a dedicated yoga session of their own. Ayah Didis, Bhaiyyas, and other staff members participated wholeheartedly, performing the same set of practices with great enthusiasm. The session offered them an opportunity to pause from their daily responsibilities and spend time caring for their physical and mental well-being.
