The first assembly at Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, Gomti Nagar, coincided with the March equinox, a moment symbolising balance and renewal, setting the tone for fresh beginnings and new intentions.
The morning assembly, thoughtfully organised and conducted by the students of Class 10 G, brought everyone together in a spirit of reflection and anticipation. Addressing the gathering, the Principal, Mrs. Promini Chopra Ma’am, congratulated students on stepping into a new phase and wished them the very best for the journey ahead. She encouraged them to embrace discipline through a well-structured routine, actively participate in sports, and set meaningful resolutions that would positively shape both their academic and personal growth. Emphasising perspective, she urged students to see this as a new chapter filled with opportunities to explore, learn and evolve.
Adding further depth, Ms. Bhavya Jain Ma’am, Class Teacher of 10 G, spoke about the importance of sincerity in even the smallest of actions, highlighting how these seemingly minor choices ultimately leave a lasting impact on who we grow into.
A skit presented by the students of Class 10 G brought this theme to life. It portrayed a student caught in a dilemma, torn between choosing the right path and taking the easier route. Through moments of reflection and introspection, the character learns to listen to their inner voice and choose what is right. The skit effectively showcased two contrasting situations, reinforcing the idea that sincerity and integrity guide us through life’s dilemmas.
Following this, an engaging Q&A-based quiz invited students to think critically about real-life situations. They reflected on dilemmas that required them to choose between right and wrong, honesty and shortcuts, and truth and sensitivity, encouraging them to build a strong moral compass alongside academic excellence.
Concluding on a purposeful note, students dispersed to their classrooms, marking the beginning of their first term with renewed enthusiasm.
The significance of the day was further heightened by the March equinox, a celestial event that occurs when the Sun crosses the equator, resulting in nearly equal day and night across the globe. Traditionally associated with balance, harmony and new beginnings, the equinox serves as a reminder to realign goals and embrace growth, making it a fitting backdrop for the start of a new academic journey.
