With Love and Little Hands: Playgroup Celebrates Grandparents Day at Jaipuria

On February 18, 2026, the littlest learners of Seth M.R. Jaipuria School’s playgroup celebrated Grandparents Day in a space filled with warmth, wonder, and meaning. The celebration echoed the school’s vision of building a conscious community, one where love, values, and learning flow naturally.

The morning began with a heartfelt play by teachers titled Grandma’s Magical Glasses. The story followed a grandmother whose magical glasses could reveal the emotions people carried inside, from unspoken joys to the child still alive within every adult heart. When her grandchild asked to try them, she gently explained that children have no need for such glasses. They already see through love and innocence, naturally finding purity in everyone around them. The message was simple yet powerful.

The tone shifted to devotion as the little ones recited shlokas with remarkable clarity, chanting confidently and explaining their meanings with ease. Grandparents clapped and captured videos, moved by the little ones’ enthusiasm and command in Sanskrit.

A yoga presentation followed, with children moving through poses like butterfly asana and Garudasana with surprising focus.

Little munchkins then stepped forward to personally thank their grandparent, sharing simple, heartfelt words like “Thank you, Grandma, for your beautiful stories and always being there.”

The energy lifted with a vibrant dance performance on the song Grandparents Are Great, with the little ones even pausing to throw flying kisses and wave at their grandparents in the audience.

During Jaipuria Samvad, grandparents spoke openly. One grandmother shared how special it felt to bring her grandchild to school, expressing that she felt genuinely valued. A grandfather expressed concern about the growing distance between generations today, calling the school’s effort to bridge that gap truly meaningful.

During her address, Principal Mrs. Promini Chopra spoke about the power of love in shaping a child’s growth. “Think about Virat Kohli or Dhoni, when they walk onto the field, their thought is not just about winning. It is about enjoying the game completely. That sheer joy of doing what you love is what raises you to excellence. And that is exactly what we want for our Jaipurians, to grow in love, in joy, and in emotional strength.”

The celebrations continued with fun games where grandparents guessed vintage advertisements and classic songs, filling the hall with laughter and nostalgia.

Two collaborative activities brought the generations even closer. A ramp walk saw grandparents and grandchildren walking hand in hand in colour-coordinated outfits, some in soft pinks, others in orange and blue, turning the simple walk into a little fashion moment that had everyone cheering.

Alongside, the non-fire cooking zone saw grandparents along with their little MasterChefs making lip-smacking bhel, sandwiches, corn chaat, and laddus. Simultaneously, the stage was buzzing with performances, with grandparents singing songs, dancing with their grandchildren, and even reciting poems. The campus ended the day with photographs, warm embraces, and conversations no one seemed in a hurry to end.
