Anti-Drug Rally at Seth M.R. Jaipuria School: Students Take a Stand Against Substance Abuse

Students of Seth M.R. Jaipuria School joined hands with the Anti-Narcotics Task Force, Uttar Pradesh, for a powerful anti-drug rally that moved from the school premises to Henneman and back. Placards in hand and conviction in their voices, students and teachers marched together, echoing slogans that resonated through the morning air: “Nashhe ko jo apnaayega, jeevan bhar pashtayega” and “Ek hi yudh, nashhe ke virudh.”

After returning to the campus, the students assembled for an interactive briefing session led by Rajesh Kumar Shrivastav, Superintendent of Police, Anti-Narcotics Task Force, Uttar Pradesh. Addressing the gathering, he underlined the growing seriousness of substance abuse in society and the responsibility shared by every citizen.

He said, “Addiction is no longer just a family issue; it has become a social and national challenge. While the police continue to take strict preventive action, real change begins at the root. Awareness is our strongest weapon. I urge students, parents and the school community to use the Manas Helpline 1933 to report any drug-related activity. Your identity will remain confidential. If addiction grips someone even once, breaking free becomes extremely difficult. Together, we must work towards a drug-free India by 2029. Jai Hind.”

During the session, students were sensitised to the harmful physical, psychological and social consequences of drug abuse. They were guided on how to identify early warning signs, respond responsibly, and seek counselling and support for those struggling with substance dependence. The Manas Helpline 1933 was highlighted as a confidential support and reporting mechanism.

Students listened attentively, asked thoughtful questions, and interacted with the officers to better understand both the dangers of drugs and the role of law enforcement.

The officers later felicitated the participating students with certificates and brooches, acknowledging their role as young ambassadors of awareness. The initiative further strengthened the school’s larger vision of nurturing informed, responsible and conscious citizens.
