Voices in Unison, Hearts in Harmony: Gita Jayanti at Jaipuria

Gita Jayanti was observed with quiet dignity and heartfelt devotion at both venues of Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, Gomti Nagar, where students gathered to chant the Bhagavad Gita in unison. The celebration opened with the lighting of the sacred lamp by the school heads, marking the start of a day devoted to reflection and reverence.

The day began with Gita Dhyan in which students chanted mantras in unison. This was followed by Gita Pooja where everyone sought blessings from the Divine and the sacred text that continues to anchor the school’s inner life.

Students along with their teachers chanted the shlokas with steady rhythm and complete sincerity. Groups of students took turns on the centre stage; each set settled in with the Gita in their hands and added their voices to the collective recitation that filled the hall with a calm but powerful resonance. Every child present participated and created a shared atmosphere of focus and devotion.

The Gita has long been the guiding force behind the school’s philosophy of Conscious Transformation. In this spirit, daily Gita classes are held on campus where students come together to chant shlokas, reflect on the verses and explore their meaning in everyday life. These sessions form a gentle but steady practice that strengthens discipline, clarity and inner growth.

As the chanting concluded a Gita Aarti was performed. Each person stepped forward to take blessings from the aarti and gently waved their hands over the sacred fire before bringing the warmth to their eyes. After this students and teachers shared short reflections on the relevance of the Gita’s teachings. Prasad was then distributed to all and brought the celebration to a close with a sense of completeness and warmth.

“Gita classes have helped me handle situations with more balance and treat people more fairly. I feel I have become more patient and when the whole school came together to chant it felt peaceful and powerful” said Varahi Gupta of Class 5, a regular Gita student.

Sharing a similar shift, Varnit Nigam from Class 5 added, “Gita taught me the value of constant remembrance. Sanskrit was difficult for me in the beginning but after doing Gita classes I was able to go into the depth of the language and feel the beauty of it. Chanting and discussing the verses has instilled in me the practice of ROI, Remember, offer and invite God before doing each and every action small or big.”
