Seth M.R. Jaipuria School Celebrates Excellence at Senior School Prize Day 2025

Seth M.R. Jaipuria School’s Senior School Prize Day 2025 unfolded as a magnificent celebration of academic excellence and artistic brilliance, bringing together distinguished guests, proud families, and accomplished students in a ceremony that honored both achievement and character development.

The event commenced with the traditional ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Chief Guest Professor Vinod Solanki Ma’am, the Guest of Honour Mrs. Anjali Jaipuria Ma’am, Vice Chairperson, Principal Mrs. Promini Chopra Ma’am along with school heads.

This was followed by the stirring rendition of the National Song, creating an atmosphere of reverence and patriotic pride that would permeate the entire celebration.

The cultural program began with a beautiful instrumental and vocal performance of “Shankar Sankat Harana,” setting a devotional tone that resonated deeply with the gathered audience.

In her speech, Mrs. Anjali Jaipuria Ma’am, Vice Chairperson, shared a powerful parable about a cow and tiger both trapped in quicksand. She narrated, “When the cow asked the tiger, ‘Do you have a master?’ the tiger replied proudly, ‘I am the king of the jungle! Why would I need a master?’ But the cow gently responded, ‘See, all your greatness and strength haven’t helped you now. None of this greatness can save you in this situation.'” Anjali Ma’am used this story to emphasize that true strength comes from having guidance and remaining humble.

She concluded, “The cow said, ‘I have a master, and if I don’t return by evening, he will come and search for me. No matter how far I am, he will take me home safely. But who is going to come to save you?'” Through this tale, she illustrated that students who surrender to learning and accept mentorship will always find support in times of difficulty.

Anjali Ma’am further encouraged students, “These awards and accolades are not finish lines, they are just milestones! There is a spark within you. This flame is your creativity, your distinctive ability. Each one of you has your unique ID, your soul, which is your unique power to innovate and question the world.”

Prof. Vinod Solanki Ma’am, the Chief Guest, began her profound address by sharing The Mother’s words that “Children are the hope and are the future.” She challenged the audience with three fundamental existential questions about identity, purpose, and Divine intention. Drawing from Sri Aurobindo’s teachings, she emphasized that “Spirituality is indeed the master key of Indian mind. Your books, your Google, your other sources, AI are the keys.”

In a refreshing perspective on learning, Deepa Wahi Ma’am, Vice Principal (Academics), introduced students to a powerful mindset for future success. She asked the audience, “Can I have the full form of IDK?” and when students responded “I don’t know,” she emphasized its profound importance. Ms. Wahi remarked, “Saying I don’t know is not a weakness. It is a doorway. It means you are curious. You want to know, you are ready to learn, and your ego is not in the way.”

The prestigious All-Rounder Awards for Middle School were presented to two exceptional students who exemplified versatility across multiple domains. Fareeha Mashhood Khan emerged as a remarkable individual who successfully balanced academic brilliance with sporting prowess, while Aarna Singh proved herself as a true embodiment of leadership and diverse talents throughout the academic year.

The ceremony then moved towards an engaging interaction between Mrs. Promini Chopra and the two All-Rounder Award recipients, Fareeha Mashhood Khan and Aarna Singh, who shared insights about their journey and values.

Aarna reflected on how middle school provided her with opportunities to explore diverse activities from performing arts to sports. She emphasized that her parents always prioritized character over academic marks, teaching her that “first you have to become a good human being who helps people around you and sees the world in an empathetic way.”

When Principal Promini Ma’am asked what the school philosophy of conscious transformation meant to them, Fareeha responded thoughtfully, describing it as “doing something while being aware of what it will lead to, yet being present in that very moment itself.”

The celebration truly came alive during the diverse Excellence Awards ceremony, recognizing outstanding achievements across languages, mental aptitude, arts, sports, Hindustani music, and Western music.

Before the Western music awards, students delivered an electrifying performance featuring the school band’s beatboxing and instrumental rendition of the Game of Thrones theme song, followed by Yatee Singh’s powerful performance of Katy Perry’s “Roar.”
Dance performances by achievers added vibrant energy to the proceedings, followed by excellence awards in dance that honored students who had mastered various forms of artistic expression.
A particularly moving moment came with Myrah Sahni’s dramatic presentation of Shri Krishna’s teachings, demonstrating her dramatic and elocution skills.
The ceremony continued with academic felicitations for Grades IX and XI students who had achieved outstanding results in their studies. Following this, the school honored students with perfect attendance records, recognizing their dedication throughout the academic year.
The emotional culmination featured heartfelt interactions between Principal Mrs. Promini Chopra Ma’am and Student Council leaders, where the Head Girl, Ounika Pandey, offered gratitude to her parents and teachers.
Head Boy Sarthak shared his deep emotional connection to the institution, expressing that while receiving awards brings happiness, the process of earning them provides even greater joy, and confessing that his “worst nightmare is stepping out of school and having to wear a visitor’s card to come in.”

The ceremony concluded with the collective voices of students, parents, and faculty joining together in the National Anthem, creating a powerful moment of unity that encapsulated the day’s celebration of excellence.
