Enkrateia 2025 – Edition II

Alternative Dispute Resolution – A Student-Led Legal Confluence

The second edition of Enkrateia, the much-anticipated inter-school legal and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) competition, successfully concluded on 31st July 2025 at Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, Vineet Khand. Over the course of two days, the event brought together enthusiastic student teams from across the region, who engaged in thought-provoking legal reasoning, collaborative negotiation rounds, and dynamic mock mediation sessions that challenged their intellect, empathy, and articulation.

The opening day of the event, held on 30th July, was graced by a distinguished panel of judges including Mr Ayush Pandey, Mr Divyanshu Singh, and two notable alumni of the school — Mr Rishit Gupta and Ms Divyanshi Raman, whose presence brought a sense of pride and continuity to the occasion. The second day, 31st July, saw another accomplished panel comprising Dr Sarita Singh, Dr Shashya Mishra, Dr Anurag Srivastava, and Mr Aditya Wakhlu, the Head Boy of the 2013 batch, whose insights and nuanced feedback left a lasting impression on all participants.

The much-anticipated preliminary round of the competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from 10 teams. While this round did not involve any eliminations, it set the stage for the intense quarter-finals that followed.

The quarter-finals proved to be one of the most challenging phases of the event, as only four teams could advance to the semi-finals. After a rigorous selection process, the teams that made it through included two from La Martiniere Girls’ College, one from Kunskapsskolan, and one from Seth M.R. Jaipuria School.

The semi-finals were marked by a blend of high tension and excitement. Demonstrating exceptional skill and teamwork, one team from La Martiniere Girls’ College and the team from Seth M.R. Jaipuria School advanced to the grand finale.
Prior to the final round, the competing teams were presented with confidential information, ensuring a level playing field and testing their ability to prepare under pressure. Both finalists displayed remarkable preparation, presence of mind, and strategic thinking.

In a gripping conclusion, La Martiniere Girls’ College clinched the first prize, showcasing commendable performance and poise. Seth M.R. Jaipuria School secured the position of first runner-up, while the second runner-up spot was once again claimed by La Martiniere Girls’ College.

More than just a competition, Enkrateia 2025 stood out as a platform for learning, introspection, and leadership. Through a series of legal challenges and expert-led sessions, students were exposed to the values of consensus, reasoned dialogue, and non-adversarial resolution of disputes. The event concluded with a formal awards ceremony that celebrated not only the winners but every participant who embodied the spirit of respectful argument and thoughtful engagement.

Enkrateia has once again reaffirmed its place as a transformative space where young minds are empowered to question, resolve, and lead with integrity and wisdom. The event continues to grow in impact and relevance, reflecting the school’s commitment to nurturing future changemakers in law, justice, and beyond.
