With great discipline and enthusiasm, the students of Seth M.R. Jaipuria School assembled on 8th April 2025 in the assembly area for the annual Investiture Ceremony. This significant event marked the transition of responsibilities from the outgoing Student Council to the newly appointed Year 12 members—a celebration of leadership, responsibility, and commitment to service.
The day commenced with a soulful school prayer, beautifully sung by the choir, followed by an exquisite traditional dance performance by our talented students. This graceful opening set a reverent and celebratory tone for the day, reflecting the values of unity, tradition, and conscious transformation.
Our Principal, Mrs Promini Chopra, then took the podium to address the students. In her stirring speech, she highlighted the four Cs essential for a compassionate leader—Competency, Courage, Change, and Communication—and motivated the new council with her inspiring words: “You are chosen not by chance, but because you’ve observed, imbibed, experienced, and reflected.” Her words reminded every listener that leadership is not about power, but about purpose.
Following her address, the conferring of the new Student Council members took place. Mrs Promini Chopra, alongside the school heads, conducted the honours, while the outgoing Student Council members graced the stage to pass on their legacy—a legacy of resilience, teamwork, and integrity.
New Head Boy Sarthak Mishra shared his excitement and sense of responsibility, recalling his journey from his first day at school to becoming a leader. Head Girl Ounika Pandey expressed heartfelt gratitude and her commitment to ensuring every student’s voice is heard, promising a year rooted in inclusivity and empathy.
This year’s Student Council comprises a diverse and dynamic team of young leaders:
Vice Head Boys: Shardul Singh and Yuvraj Gupta
Vice Head Girls: Kairvi Das and Akshita Agrawal
Sports Captain: Navya Singh
Literary Captain (English): Tarini Diwan
Literary Captain (Hindi): Nitish Singhal
Performing Arts Captain: Palak Bhandari
Each of them took the stage with confidence, expressing their vision and commitment for the academic year ahead. Their speeches resonated with authenticity, reflecting a deep understanding of leadership rooted in empathy and action.
The outgoing council members also addressed the gathering, sharing their experiences, challenges, and learnings—marking a graceful and emotional farewell to their duties. Their journey stood as a beacon for the newly appointed members, reinforcing the school’s belief in transformation through service.
The ceremony then proceeded with the conferment of the house prefects. One by one, the prefects of each house paraded on stage with pride and solemnity, bearing their badges as symbols of service and strength. The respective house heads addressed the students, outlining their vision and urging the prefects to uphold the values of their houses with dedication, unity, and perseverance.
Towards the end of the assembly, an engaging on-stage interaction took place. The newly elected council—Head Girl, Head Boy, Vice Heads, Captains, and Prefects—came forward to share their aspirations, their ideas for student engagement, and their pledge to uphold the school’s ethos in every decision they take.
The assembly concluded with a stirring rendition of the national anthem, echoing a spirit of unity and purpose. Post-ceremony, a beautiful and symbolic exchange took place as the newly appointed council members were seen in meaningful conversation with the outgoing team—gaining insights, sharing laughter, and absorbing the wisdom passed down.
This Investiture Ceremony wasn’t just about roles—it was about responsibility. It wasn’t just about titles—it was about transformation. At Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, each badge pinned is not just an honour, but a promise—a promise to serve, lead, and uplift the school community with compassion, courage, and conviction.
