On 28th September, students of our Social Awareness Club conducted a donation drive and went to the Nirvan Rehab Centre, taking with them clothes, stationary, books, toys, footwear and eatables collected from school. Their main objective was not just to donate but to bring about a change in someone’s life by bringing a smile on their face, and also learn important life lessons and the truth of the world beyond the beauty of their privileged lives.
When they reached the Centre, they were met with cheerful and welcoming children. There were about 140 special children of all age groups, most of whom had speech difficulties. Greeting the students with lovely smiles, their warm aura brought radiance and positivity as they shared their individual stories.
As they talked to each other, our students found it heartwarming to see the evident happiness on the faces of the children. Meeting them was a realisation of privilege and the importance of parents for the students as they got a new perspective of life.
