Excelsior 2022 – Second Edition

Weaving together the elements of Commerce, our students organised the Second Edition of Excelsior, an Intra School Fest, on 9th and 12th September with the aim to broaden their horizons. The objective was to enhance and encourage the involvement and engagement of students in the field of Commerce.

Events such as HAM & JAM sought to inculcate in them aspects of time management, productivity and efficiency which will prove useful in the real world. Participants from grades 9 to 11 spoke on various topics like paperless economy, business ethics, mutual funds, 5G rollout in India, carbon tax, middlemen in the stock market, influencer and digital marketing.

A skit, put up on stage, on the life of the Indian billionaire business magnate, Mr. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, while paying due respect to the great investor, was also quite informative and inspirational for our audience.

Advertisements were enacted by students with them presenting unique products and their specifications while the Investors Pitch event saw teams with budding entrepreneurs pitching their business models to a panel of investors. Their presentations incorporated the features and components of their products, distribution, pricing, promotional strategies as well as allocation of funds. The teams came up with their propositions on virtual security systems, smart glasses, wireless chargers and tracking devices, that were quite well thought out.

The components of the Business Quiz event involved identifying business owners, company logos, brand names through advertisements and business current affairs. With teams of two each, students actively participated in this event with healthy competitiveness.

Excelsior 2022 was brought to a closure with the prize distribution by the Principal, Mrs. Promini Chopra and Vice Principal, Dr. Anupam Vidyarthi. The exuberance displayed by the students, combined with their innovative ideas ensured a successful two-day fest.
