Franklin D. Roosevelt said, “When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on.” As we proudly announce the successful completion of the Tenth Edition of Jaipuria Model United Nations, we would like to take a moment to recount our learnings from this season’s conference.
Jaipuria Model United Nations, 2022, was held from July 13th till 16th and had about 300 delegates from 30 schools across India. With eight thought-provoking committees and a team that left no stone unturned, the conference’s ten-year-old, unparalleled legacy was lived upto the finest mark.
The Principal of the school Mrs. Promini Chopra welcomed the Chief Guest Honourable Justice Kawaljeet Singh Rakhra, and other esteemed guests who graced the opening ceremony where the Secretary General Vishwesh Tiwari, declared the conference open.
Day one of JMUN witnessed students from various schools taking on roles of countries, members of Parliament, and even media representatives, ready with the objective to discuss world problems and find inclusive solutions. Day two witnessed vivacious and dynamic discussions among the delegates on the issues at hand with utmost eminence and calibre. Day three concluded with committees attempting to tackle crises with delegates approaching them with novel and unique solutions. The committees came to a closure with some fruitful debates, passing of bills and an overarching sense of accomplishment.
The nuanced debates in the United Nations General Assembly and the nuanced crises in the United Nations Human Rights Council, the propaganda-building in the Global Democracy Summit and the confidence-building in the United Nations Security Council, the calculated politics in the United States House Committee on Homeland Security and the calculated financing in the G7 Advisory Committee on Decentralisation, the heated protests in the Lok Sabha and the heated headlines in the Global Press Summit were seen like never before.
The Best Delegation was awarded to the team from Seth A.R. Jaipuria School, Ghaziabad.
As a School of Conscious Transformation, we were delighted to host a conference whose sole objective was to distance from ignorance and move towards knowledge but ended up being so much more – a conference to Deliberate, Defend and Deliver, a conference to look forward to.
