At Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, Gomti Nagar, Sanskrit Diwas was celebrated on 10th August. Our esteemed guests, Pro. Dhanindra Jha, Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan and Pro. Bharat Bhooshan Tripathi, HOD Sanskrit Department, Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, graced the occasion with their presence.
The entire event was conducted in Sanskrit by the students, with elements of dance, music, drama and oratory. A message from our Mentor, Dr. Sampadananda Mishra was displayed, where he mentioned how the efforts of the school in teaching Sanskrit through the Devabhasha Curriculum have helped transform students’ behaviours, inculcating in them values essential for a better future.
Presentations by the LKG and UKG students had the audience amazed, while the group discussion among the Senior school students on the ‘Relevance of Sanskrit in the present times’ made everyone reflect on the topic. Principal, Mrs. Promini Chopra spoke to the students about Sanskrit as a language of logic, urging them to take Sanskrit forward in their life and explore the rich culture it holds.
A dramatic representation of Sri Aurobindo’s life was narrated and performed on stage to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sri Aurobindo. A musical performance by the teachers of the Sanskrit department was appreciated by all. The students expressed their love for the language through their speeches and an enactment of a Sanskrit classroom in school.
Our guests of honour addressed the audience, explaining how Sanskrit is a universal and limitless language which one should learn for the purpose of self-awareness and enlightenment, and commending them on the successful organisation of the event.
