As we celebrated National Unity Day on the 31st of October, marking the birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India – Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, we appreciated his efforts to unite the nation.
We also acknowledged how unity reaffirms our strengths as a nation through several activities conducted across all grades.
Junior school students from grades 1 and 2 identified that while they have their individual strengths as dancers, singers, readers, artists, and sportspersons, they are equal and united when they stand together as a class.
Grades 3 and 4 delved into national unity as they established where they derived their identity from in terms of culture and lineage, coming to realise how they are all unified under one nation.
Middle school students from grades 5 to 8 were engaged in a group activity wherein they first identified each other’s positive attributes while sitting with their buddies, and then realised the commonalities that unite them. Putting them up and going through them together brought about the realisation of oneness amongst their unique identities.
Students of Senior school participated in discussions on varied topics, relating to unity with oneself, the nation and social media as a unifying or dividing force.
