Laskhya’s ingenuity in reducing waste

Recently, IIIT Naya Raipur conducted Ideathon 3.0 – an idea pitching event for school students across the country. SMRJ was represented by Lakshya Garg of Class 5.
Each year, around 100 billion plastic cutlery is used leading to tons of waste. To find a solution to this problem, Lakshya decided to make an edible spoon out of millets and flour. First, a dough is kneaded and rolled and the spoon shape is carved from it. The dough-spoon is then let to rest for some time before being put in the oven for baking. 
Lakshya’s ingenuity made him win the First Prize for the Best Idea and Second Prize for Idea-based Solution.
