Seth M.R. Jaipuria School’s Bhavani Bharti Sanskrit Inter-school Competition was hosted on 19th December, 2020. The competition, based on Bhavani Bharti, an original work in Sanskrit by the great Sri Aurobindo himself, saw participation from 28 schools, with over 105 contenders. The poetry discovered and christened as ‘Bhavani Bharati’ posthumous, speaks about how Mother India suffered on the hands of the Imperial rule.
The event began with the lighting of the lamp of knowledge by Mrs. Promini Chopra, Principal, Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, followed by the opening ceremony (https://youtu.be/vsUeM1Ds2JY). The chief guest for the opening ceremony was Dr. Gopbandhu Mishra, Vice-Chancellor of Somnath Sanskrit University, Gujarat whereas for the closing ceremony, the chief guest was Dr. Chammu Krishna Shastry , an educationist and co-founder of Samskrita Bharati. The event was also graced by the presence of eminent personalities such as, Dr. Sampadananda Misra (Director, Sri Aurobindo Foundation for Indian Culture, Puducherry) and Mrs. Anjali Jaipuria (Vice-Chairperson, Seth M.R. Jaipuria School).

After the tabulation of scores, Navsrijan School, Gomtinagar was declared as the winner of the Bhavani Bharati 2020, with Seth M.R. Jaipuria, Gomtinagar coming in at second place and Seth M.R. Jaipuria Babatpur in third place. Congratulations to all the winners!
