Seth M.R Jaipuria’s junior school organized its debut Chess tournament in school on Aug 2, 2019. Inculcating skills in young minds helps in problem-solving, abstract reasoning, calmness, patience, strategic thinking, etc and chess provides a platform for the same. The students of classes 2-5 participated in this event with great enthusiasm and thoroughly enjoyed during the matches.
The following ten students participated in the tournament:
Shrey Nigam of 5A, Akarsh Singh of 5D, Angad Dhatarwal of 5E, Aurko Dow of 5F, Akshat Srivastava of 5E, Shreshtha Raj of 4D, Hashal of 4F, Shaurya of 3F, Kushagra of 2B and Dalshit of 2C.
With a lot of encouragement from the teachers, the participants were all happy to be introduced to chess as a competitive game and they were keen to learn new strategies and better their game.
