It was for the first time that Seth M.R. Jaipuria School participated in the prestigious World School Debate Championship .The first round of the competition was the intra- school round conducted in the school premises on the 6th of May to select the school team. The debate had been conducted by the WSDC team which had come down from Delhi only for this purpose. The school team comprising Muskaan Malhotra, Bhaskar Vishwajeet, Nyonika Mitra and Aditii Wakhlu then went on to compete for the inter school round held at G.D Goenka school on the 10th of May. The Best eight schools of the city selected by the WSDC team were competing for city championship. We bagged the city round and won the honour of representing it in the National Championship .It was indeed a matter of great pride for us because only four school teams from India had found a place in the final round held on the 14th of May. The rest of the competitors had been selected from the open round from all across the nation .We bowed out in the first round after giving a stiff competition to a team consisting of students selected from the open round. It had been a memorable experience for the students who are already planning to target the Bull’s Eye in WSDC 2017.
