“Bol, Ke lab azaad hai tere…..”These iconic words of famous Urdu poet Faiz Ahmad Faiz,,retreated in the belief that freedom of expression and speech should be given to the young minds. ‘Speak up, while your lips are still free; speak up, while your tongue is still yours’, proved true on an cool enchanting evening when The Times of India Group organised a highly successful public speaking contest on the theme of LIVE GREEN UP on 28th April, 2016, at Janeshwar Mishra Park, in Lucknow where students of more than 35 schools of the city aired their views on the issues of environment.
Nayonika Mitra and Aniket Chauhan of Seth. M.R. Jaipuria School, Lucknow participated and spoke on the topic, ‘We need development. Environment be damned.’ Principal, Mrs. Promini  Chopra, Mrs Asha Chaddha,Principal Nav Srijan  and Mr. Surendra Pandey, school’s Administrative Officer were present at the event.
Aniket Chauhan was so moved that in his speech he said “Politicians say that due to our economic problems, we can forgo the environmental damage. This is the same in saying that due to my excessive hair loss, can I ignore my heart disease.” Under the aegis of Times of India this event after a fine summer day amongst the green environment was a unique beginning in Luknow’s cultural calendar.
