On June 29, 2024, the JIM Auditorium was abuzz with excitement as Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, Gomti Nagar, hosted the Felicitation Ceremony for the ISC Batch of 2023-24. The ceremony celebrated the outstanding achievements of the students, acknowledging their hard work and dedication.
The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest, Prof. Vinod Solanki Ma’am, Principal Mrs. Promini Chopra Ma’am, Vice Principals, school heads and Alumni. This was followed by a soulful Ganesh Vandana performed by our students, invoking the blessings of the divine.
The Principal addressed the audience, setting the tone for the day’s proceedings. In her speech, she congratulated the students and alumni who were also present at the event. She shared an anecdote about how the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre came into existence through the harmonious understanding between Dr. Vikram Sarabhai and a spiritual leader. She added, “I’ll be definitely put to rest when I understand that none of you will forget the school’s philosophy and practices of silence and offering.”
One of the highlights was the Alpana Goel Award for Excellence in Geography, which was awarded to Priyamvada Singh, who scored 99% in Geography. The award was given by Dr. T.C. Goel and his family. Next, the Parul Mishra Award for Excellence in Biotechnology was presented to Tasheeb Jafar, who scored 98% in Biotechnology. Prof. Vinod Solanki and Principal Mrs. Promini Chopra gave the award.
This was followed by a series of felicitation ceremonies for students scoring between 89% and 99.25% in their exams, with Prof. Vinod Solanki, Principal Mrs. Promini Chopra, Dr. Anupam Vidyarthi, Dr. Rashmi Singh, and Mr. Vinay Pandey presenting the awards to the deserving students.
The INSPIRE-SHE scheme is a scholarship program introduced by CISCE in collaboration with the Department of Science & Technology. It aims to support the top 1% of achievers in the Science stream for the ISC Examination 2024 who wish to pursue Basic and Natural Science courses. The students who received the INSPIRE-SHE scholarship are Suhani Bansal, Amisha Williams, Aprajita, Divit Pandey, Adityadev Sinha, Gaurav Srivastav, Ishaan Agarwal, and Kavyansh Gupta.
Our esteemed chief guest of the evening, Prof. Vinod Solanki, encouraged our students with her words. She spoke about how they must embrace the values taught in the school in the places they go in life. She also added, “Always be conscious within yourselves of the lower moments, and whenever you feel you experience lower emotions, try to reflect upon it and move towards the higher consciousness of the mind.”
The event then moved to an insightful session featuring our alumni: Amitej Pangtey, completing his IAS training; Animesh Verma, completing his IAS training; Fiza Khan, a counseling psychologist; Parth Singh, studying Mechanical Engineering at IIT Delhi; and Jayesh Khare, studying Engineering at BHU IIT. During the interaction, Parth Singh spoke about the importance of collaboration and expressing oneself. Fiza, who works in the field of psychology, emphasized the importance of maintaining a balance between work and personal life. She advised students to always ensure they are doing things that make them happy, as this will help their inner being grow while also growing professionally. Animesh reminisced about his old school days. He said, “I realized one thing after I graduated: I miss the ordinary and mundane things the most. I miss the times my friends and I used to go from class to the assembly ground to pray. I feel the spiritual values and teachings of Jaipuria have helped me see the outer world with a broader and different perspective.”
During the felicitation ceremony, subject toppers were given medals by the respective Heads of Departments and teachers. A discussion with parents, led by English teacher Mrs. Jaya Joshi, became a heartfelt session where parents expressed their profound gratitude to the school and teachers for a truly enriching school journey. They spoke about how the school nurtures the spiritual well-being of students and instills the value of gratitude. Parents highlighted the unwavering support provided by teachers to help each student reach their full potential and praised the school’s blissful infrastructure, which creates an environment where students can grow into better individuals.
This was followed by a special felicitation of the highest scorers in the batch, the two toppers, Priyamvada Singh and Shriya Rastogi, who scored 99.25% in the ISC Examination. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. Anupam Vidyarthi, followed by a closing video that highlighted the students’ journey and achievements beyond academics.
The ceremony culminated with the National Anthem, leaving the audience filled with pride and a renewed sense of purpose, inspired by the remarkable achievements of the students of Seth M.R. Jaipuria School.
